Abstract:Large-scale urban development resulted in massive ground hardening, this in turn causes urban water logging. Based on the"Sponge City"concept to design and construct non-hardened urban ground surface with a certain water storage and replenishment capacity is becoming the future trend of urban development. In this paper, a series of water permeability tests on typical ground surfaces with different structures were designed and completed. The test results show that the surface vegetation can effectively increase the surface water permeability and reduce the surface runoff caused by rainwater. To keep the vegetation surface and build the non-hardened surface in urban is one of the most important ways to improve city's self-resistance to water logging and drought relief.
