Abstract:With the economic and social development in the Taihu Basin,the construction of river-crossing bridges increasingly intensified. Bridge constructions will gradually affect flood conveyance capacity of waterways and increase the difficulty of the implementation of water projects. The main control factors of bridge to flood protection are put forward on the basis of investigation results and the river-crossing bridge construction trends are forecasted in the main rivers of the Taihu Basin. This study provides technical reference for systematic assessment of the cumulative effects of bridge on flood control capacity and valuable to ongoing bridge development.
