Abstract:On July 16, 2018, Beijing experienced a sudden heavy rainstorm. The center of the rainstorm was located at Zhangjiafen station in Miyun District. The rain was characterized by short periods of heavy rain. The historical extreme value of the station was refreshed. The rainstorm was unevenly distributed in time and space, and extreme rainfall occurred in some areas. The water level in the upper reaches of some reservoirs increased significantly, and small floods occurred in urban rivers and lakes. This study analyzed the characteristics of 2018.7.16 storm. In addition, the characteristics and runoff coefficients of the "2012.7.21" and "2016.7.20" heavy rainstorms were compared and analyzed, in order to provide references for flood control and disaster reduction in future urban rainstorms and floods.
