Evaluation of flood vulnerability in Beijing based on variable set theory

Abstract:With the continuous development of urbanization,people's demands for safety,ecology and environment are also continuously improving. Flood control safety,as the most important link in the field of urban safety, is of decisive significance to the existence and development of a city. After years of planning and construction, most cities are equipped with basic flood control capacity. Meanwhile,there are many weak links,such as large population density,high concentration of assets and poor infrastructure,which lead to inevitable losses in the face of flood and waterlogging disasters. Targeted prevention and control measures can be carried out for the weak areas and links of urban flood control. Using the variable set theory and the method of flood vulnerability assessment put forward by the professor Chen ShouYu, then build the suitable evaluation index system and evaluation standard for Beijing area,considering the availability of data,the administrative divisions in unit 16 administrative region in Beijing to evaluation,analyzes the existing problems and reasons,put forward the corresponding suggestion.
