Research and benefit analysis of the water level control of the sluice dams on liangshui river in Beijing during non-flood season

Abstract:The Liangshui River is not only an important flood conveyance channel in the "Southern Flood Diversion" of Beijing, but also an important landscape channel. With the improvement of water ecological environment and the increase of residents' hydrophilic demand, the function of Liangshui River has gradually evolved from single flood prevention and drainage to multi-functional comprehensive utilization such as flood prevention, ecology, landscape and recreation. Based on the MIKE11 model, this paper proposes the water level requirements for the non-flood season control of main sluice and dam, and analyzes the water storage benefits based on the principle of not flooding the service channels on both sides of bank and the backwater not affecting the upstream sluice and dam operation. The results show that the recommended control water levels for the Yangqiao Rubber Dam, Dahongmen Gate, Majuqiao Gate, Xinhe Gate and Zhangjiawan Gate during non-flood seasons are 35.22 m, 32.25 m, 23.85 m, 18.96 m and 17.05 m respectively; Compared with open discharge operation, the water level control can increase the water storage capacity by a total of about 680 000 m3, increase the water surface area by 23 000 m2, and have significant ecological and environmental benefits.
