Current situation analysis of water management in Qinhuai River basin in Nanjing City

Abstract:By summarizing and analyzing the development and historical governance of Qinhuai River basin, the current situation of water management in Qinhuai River basin in terms of flood prevention and waterlogging elimination, water resources security, water environment and ecological protection, and water project management was discussed. The flood prevention capacity of the basin was analyzed, and aiming at the new changes of water situation in the basin and the problems existing in the current water management system, the general ideas of "infiltration- storage- and- detention, expansion of external discharge, diversion and lifting, management- protection- and- repair, and optimal regulation" for Watershed Governance was put forward. The directions and solutions of water management were put forward in such aspects as promoting the construction of sponge city, expanding the downstream channels into the Changjiang river, improving the allocation of water resources in the basin, strengthening the management of water functional areas, and scientifically regulating reservoir sluice pumps, so as to effectively improve the capacity of flood prevention and waterlogging elimination, water resources security and water ecological protection in Qinhuai River basin.
