Abstract: In order to further understand the flood protection standards in the central districts of Chongqing and to improve the flood protection and rescue work,the implementation of the original flood protection standard and the current flood protection standard in the central districts of Chongqing is compared in this paper. In addition,this paper fully explains the reasons for the adjustment of flood protection standards in the central districts from the aspects of laws,urban layout and social economy. It is scientific,reasonable and feasible to adjust the flood protection standard in the central districts of Chongqing to 100 year frequency.
