Abstract: Based on the field work, this article investigated the subsistent Acequia Irigation system in Valencia, Spain.The history and current situation of the Acequia, and its active action in the process of the improvement of the local environment, especially its role in the local drought management are investigated. Simultaneously, the institutional mechanism of irrigation management was also investigated by visiting of Valencia Water Tribunal. Accordingly, based on the aspects of technological and institutional visits, this article reveals the features and sustainable values of Acequia in Valencia. It is valuable to understand the local environmental improvement by water management, especially the history and current situation of drought management in Europe.
