Abstract:
During the period when No. 2413 Typhoon "Bebinca" passed through Xicheng District, Jiangsu Province, a general rainstorm heavy rainstorm occurred in the region, especially in the urban area of Wuxi. The urban area rainfall was 176.6 mm, with a return period of about 50 years. The water level of Wuxi Station, a representative station, rose sharply and rapidly. The highest water level in the process was 4.96 m, which exceeded the design flood level for a return period of 50 years. Before the typhoon passed through, the water administrative department pre arranged and lowered the water level of the river network by 20~25 cm, freeing up about 30 million m
3 of water network storage space and reducing the highest flood level during the process. After the occurrence of heavy rainfall, the main sources of regional waterlogging are the combination of gates and pumps, which discharge into the Yangtze River to the north and Wangyu River to the east before entering the Yangtze River, accounting for more than 80% of the total external drainage volume. Xicheng District is faced with the risk that the drainage way is highly dependent on river drainage. It should actively expand the drainage way, formulate emergency drainage plans such as limiting drainage in polder areas during high water periods, and draining into the Taihu Lake from the south, and improve the regional emergency drainage system.
