Abstract:
With the process of modernization, urban floods have become increasingly prominent, and most cities in China have experienced waterlogging disasters. However, there is still no unified standard for urban floods, which is to what extent if water ponding it can be identified as a flood. Current relevant standards mainly focus on qualita-tive analysis of urban flood and lack of quantitative criteria. Through literature review, expert consultations and on-site investigations, this paper quantitatively analyzed the criteria for identifying urban flood in five types of ar-eas:common road, intersection, underpass road bridge area, subway entrance and exit of underground garage, and gave the corresponding threshold from the depth, scope and time of water ponding. Urban floods can be classified into three grades:minor, moderate and severe with water depth as the determinant factor. Urban flood judgment and classification are helpful for people to judge the occurrence and extent of urban flood, and also for relevant de-partments to carry out urban flood prevention and control work.
