Study on flood resource utilization potential evaluation method of typical flood storage and detention areas

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the concept of flood resources utilization potential and summary of the flood resources utilization way in flood storage and detention areas at home and abroad, the evaluation method of flood resources utilization potential in flood storage and detention areas is proposed considering inundation flood in different return periods and rainfall flooding in local areas, on the premise of ensuring the flood safety in the river basin. Taking Yongnianwa flood storage and detention area in the Haihe River as a typical case, using flood risk analysis, scenario analysis, and hydrological series statistics,the expected annual available flood resources amount was quantitatively calculated. The method and results can provide significance reference for the evaluation of flood resources utilization potential in other flood storage and detention areas in China.
