Abstract:Based on the minute-by-minute rainfall process data of the national basic meteorological station of Su-zhou and five encrypted observatories in the central district of Suzhou from 2005 to 2017, this paper uses PC(Pil-grim & Cordery) and KC (Keifer & Chu) rainstorm distribution methods to calculate the design short-duration rain-storm distribution of the time period of 120 min with 5 min per unit period. The results show that the rainfall distri-bution of short-duration rainstorms in Suzhou City, are basically single peak, and the location of 120 min rain peak is in the front of the rainfall process, the coefficient of rain peak is 0.394, and the rainfall is 19.37% of the to-tal rainfall. The rainfall intensity of rain peak shows a trend of decreasing-increasing-decreasing with the in-crease of duration. The characteristic of short-duration rainstorm distribution is "single peak shape, short-dura-tion and high intensity".
