Risk assessment of waterlogging at bridge underpasses of Qinghe riverside road in Beijing

Abstract:In recent years,there are frequent rainstorms and waterlogging in Beijing urban area. Bridge underpasses on both sides of Qinghe riverside road is prone to waterlogging during flood seasons, which affects road traffic and drainage safety.Ithis study identified 17 reasons for runoff ponding at bridge underpasses of Qinghe riverside road, of which 4 were mainly induced by rainfall, and the other 13 were mainly induced by river flood.On the basis of considering the critical depth of waterlogging and the drainage capacity of bridge underpasses,the critical rainfall threshold corresponding to waterlogging at bridge underpasse are defined, and 8 places with waterlogging corresponding to rainstorm threshold exceeding 3-year return period(the maximum hourly rainfall is 42 mm) are identified, and the remaining 9 places are less than 3-year return period. Based on the analysis results of the causes of waterlogging in the bridge underpasses and the critical rainfall threshold,this paper puts forward the countermeasures for the prevention and control of waterlogging at the typical bridge underpasses, which provides scientific support for the prevention and control of waterlogging.
