Abstract:The interannual variation and seasonal variation of landing typhoon, landing location, moving paths after landing and the precipitation characteristics affecting the Huaihe River Basin from 1954 to 2018 were analyzed. The results show that, averagely, 1.5 landing typhoons affect the Huaihe River Basin every year, from July to September; The landing impact paths are mainly type I and type II,which travel westward or northwest along south side of river basin. The landing locations are mainly in Fujian Province and Zhejiang Province, accounting for 53% and 29% respectively. The high incidence area of typhoon and rainstorm affecting Huaihe River overlaps with the disaster area caused by flood, which should be paid more attention to. The top 10 typical typhoons with the largest impact on precipitation in the basin are type II or type I path, and they are all combined with the north cold air during the period of precipitation in the basin.
